Staying safe and selling real estate around Madison, WI during “COVID-19 Stay At Home”
My team and I wanted to let you know that your health and safety are our utmost concern as the recent “Safer at Home,” executive order has declared Real Estate services as “Essential Business.” Meaning Realtors, Lending, Inspectors, etc. are allowed to remain open for business! We are committed to supporting our clients through this challenging time and taking extra precautions to keep everyone as safe and healthy as we can.
For Sellers, we are ramping up our virtual selling experience to limit face-to-face contact. I will still need to do a physical walkthrough of your property before listing and will assist you with staging, as required. We will communicate through phone, text, email and via virtual meetings by using Zoom or some other video conference application. Included in our marketing package, we will have a virtual touring/ video walkthrough of your property to limit the amount of showing requests. We will share as much information that we can online to buyers and will ensure that the buyers are preapproved before previewing your home. We are no longer doing open houses and requiring that only the home inspector or person conducting the evaluation, be present.
Once a pre-approved buyer interested in viewing your property, the showing line will go over the list of precautions that they’ll need to take to keep you and your family safe, and we will have signs hanging up on your behalf indicating the following.
- People exhibiting cold/flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to view the home
- Only two of the decision-makers will be allowed to preview the home
- Only one showing per time slot
- Everyone must wash their hands immediately upon entering the property
- Only the showing agent can open and close doors, cabinets, etc. and by doing so with a paper towel
- All lights shall remain on unless the property is vacant (to help touching limitation)
